Family fun

Growing up my family spent many vacations with my "cousins from California".  My family loved spending time together and getting together at least once a year.  I remember as a really young child my cousin Regina and I would cry when my family had to leave back to Idaho.  We had some fun times together.  We went camping, to theme parks, and always shopping!  As I got older our family started going to Lake Tahoe.  We loved it and still do, some of us grew up and moved there!  Our beloved grandma just turned 90 this year and it has been hard for her to travel so we brought the family to her.  A couple of years ago we ended up in Driggs, Id where my grandma and my aunt grew up.  It is beautiful there.  I have to say the Idaho side of the Tetons gives Wyoming a run for their money!  I love the mountains and being outdoors.  Nothing like it.  Mountains+water=Heaven!
We all had our favorite days.  Danny and I loved going to Jackson Lake.  The view there is amazing.  We liked it so much we went back the next week, and we will be back many more times because now we have an annual pass!  My other favorite day was floating the Hoback Junction.  I haven't done that in a long time and it was great.  I think I am getting a little braver. Well, I didn't scream as much as I normally would (fortunately for Tim who I made sit in the front!). My  favorite rapid was deemed, "The Alex Rapid" after my cousins son.  We hit it just right to get a great ride out of that bunch of rapids.  Thanks Alex!!
I think my kids are on to something though, they had the most fun with their cousins.  Isabelle had a great time with her cousins and getting to know them.  The sleep-over was her favorite experience.  Grant and Will were heartbroken the morning Carter left for home.  The boys had a great time.  I think we could get the kids together anywhere and they would have a great time just being together.  Maybe that's what makes Tahoe, Driggs, or Jackson such a great place.  It's not the place but the people you are with that brings out the beauty.  Don't get me wrong they are gorgeous places all alone, but they are just places until you have family and memories.  I hope we keep this tradition up and are able to make new memories together.  Thanks for a great time!

Thank You for writing what you did, I often wonder if family members still think of Regina. And you helped to bring to mind those scenes of you and Regina in tears. Oh, you are so right our family trips together have been so great! They have had all the experiences of what life gives you. Feeling the joy of being apart of that never ending circle is wonderful. And I too want more memories of family gatherings for the next generation.
