Mother's Day Reflection...

I am so lucky to be a mother!  For Mother's Day I didn't get an a huge gift, in fact I watched my husband order me flowers over the internet.  When they came we were disappointed they didn't look like the picture!! However, they are very pretty, and  I am grateful for the gesture. After all the talk of Mothers  I was thinking about my own motherhood and what wonderful gifts my children gave to me this Mother's Day and everyday.

Isabelle is very thoughtful and she had three pictures made for me and was so proud to show them to me.  That means a lot to me that she thinks of me and makes me something special.  She is full of hugs and kisses and I love you mommy.

Grant, well he makes Mother's Day special in his own special way.  He sang with his cousin's primary in sacrament meeting, actually he stood there and made faces. He then caught on to the the very last line of the song and sang with gusto. Luckily for him they sang the phrase twice!  After it ended he announced to the congregation,  "I sure didn't know that song very well!"  Not being in my own ward I could feel my face light up as bright as a cherry!  Then we had to endure another song!  Luckily Grant said, "Well that was a short one!"  Then proud as punch he jumped off the stand and fought with his cousin back to the bench.  I don't think we will be asked to sing with that primary again! Grant gave me some comic relief with his funny five year old self!

William-  I would like to bottle him up and keep him the way he is right now.  He is a terrific two!  He loves life and discovering new things and new phrases.  He jumps or high kicks it where ever he goes.  Taking a bath is his favorite activity and he jumps in with who ever is getting in next!  He is always polite and says thank you, your welcome, see you and blows you a kiss.  When he watches a movie on my bed he pulls the blankets up, rests his head on a few pillows and then pats the one next to him so you will come join him.  He makes me realize how wonderful life is and how much fun it really can be.  I love two year olds, and William is such fun.

Baby Boy Leavitt- Well, he has given me hope. Hope that my motherhood will continue with a fourth child.  He gives me hope that I can experience all that I have with my other children and more.  He gives me hope that next Mother's Day I will have a new little spirit to celebrate with and  a new personality to discover.

I enjoy being a mother.  Mother's Day was a day of reflection for me.  My children were perfect little creatures and could do no wrong!  I saw all the good they have in them and how hard they try to be good kids.  Even if they ruined their church clothes and cried all the way to church!  Mother's Day was a day I remembered how blessed I am to be a mother.

The kids are all growing so fast and such a beautiful family you have. I have always known how special you are but reading your words confirms it again. Your influence will be felt now and far into their futures and their lives will be strengthen and blessed because of your commitment to being a Mother.
