6 Week Check Up!

I know, I know,  you were all worried about me, and if I was surviving 4 kids!!  I am happy to report, I am surviving.  Though just barely, by the skin of my teeth!  It's not that bad, but we have our good and bad days, and days when we get a shower
and days when we think, "when did I last have a shower? My hair seems to be molded into a pony tail!" We are all adjusting to our new life now and getting into a groove. I thought about it and at six weeks isn't your body supposed to be healed from the train wreck that just happened? Well, I think the train wrecked and left lots of  body work!  My friends and I decided that you should be able to wear a sign that says, "Just Had a Baby," and people would nod their heads and say, "Oh, yes that is why your clothes don't fit, your hair looks like you rolled out of bed, and your eyes have black circles not even concealer will hide!" Really, the baby in tote should explain everything! And in reality I should be able to hold up my five year old and say, "Just had a baby!"
The kids love our little "mini Coop".  I will never forget the look
on Grant's face as he held Cooper for the first time.  He was so-o excited he tried hard not to show it, he actually sucked his cheeks in to hide his grin.  He loves to hold Cooper and he tries to play with him.
Grant has informed me on several occasions that Cooper slept all day and all night, a-gain. Grant wants to teach him how to walk and talk already!  Isabelle loves being a big sister.  She wants to hold the baby any chance she can get.  She bounces him and tries to take care of him like a good big sister.  She also makes sure I am set for nursing, and that I am all covered with boppy pillow on my lap.  She also can't handle it when he cries and she runs for a pacifier and cuddles him in her arms, or she asks me, "What are we going to do with this baby?" Wil on the other hand, ignored him for about the first week and a half.  I didn't think he liked him until one day I heard Wil say in the sweetest voice, "whatcha doin' there Cooper?"  If Wil says this phrase to you, he likes you!  He has decided Cooper is not going anywhere and the other kids seem to like him so he will tolerate him too!
They have been schooled in all things baby.  Like why babies sleep all day, and why babies get their milk from moms and some don't.  They also learned (or think it is funny, they giggle every time it happens) why it is ok for babies to burp and toot, and why it is not appropriate for them, especially in school!  Yes they have learned a lot about babies, and now I need to teach them to do diapers!
The good news is, Cooper seems to like us too! I was worried he would think we were nuts, but I think he likes us.  Just the other day at church a lady made a big deal out of Cooper because he looked at me and realized he knew who I was. It was great.  As his Grandma's would say,"He is so smart!"   He loves the swing, and so do I.  The swing gives us both a break.  He can sleep and I can too! He is growing so-o fast I think he weighs... a lot, but we will find out soon with his next well baby visit. He is also going to be blessed October 12 at 9am!!!  I know it is early, we can't make it on time either!  So if you can't make it on time to the blessing go on over to the house and start cooking up some eggs so we can have breakfast we when return!!
It is good to be back. I may not have had time to blog, but I have read all my other fellow bloggers!  Just thought I should check in at least by 6 weeks, or you may all send out the troops to make sure I was still alive!
