New Year's Resolution!

I have never been the person who sits down on Jan. 1 and makes a list of resolutions.  I am more the person who is continually making new year's resolutions.  So now that it is the end of January I think it is time to make some goals.  I think I have out smarted the average person because most of them are loosing their steam by now and some of their goals have fizzled out, and me I am just starting!!  Actually, I have put some thought into some of my goals and I have kept them consistent with ones that everyone else so maybe I can help you  out too.
Goal #1- Loose weight.  As I was fixing lunch today and having an appetizer of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and wearing my workout clothes which haven't been worked out in yet I realized yes there is a reason I am a few pounds overweight!  I have this problem, I put on my exercise clothes first thing in the morning and then the baby wakes up and needs fed, and someone needs more chocolate milk, and oh ya I better get that billed payed, and the dishwasher or washing machine needs turned on, and then it is lunch and I am still in my exercise clothes!  After watching Oprah (yes, I watch Oprah sometimes because I have mastered Dora) I am going to put myself on the list of things to do FIRST!  No more picking the kids up from school in my exercise clothes!
Goal #2- Spiritual.  I have also realized that being a mom of very young kids and going to church on Sunday doesn't always mean I have been spiritually fed!  In fact, my husband sometimes wants to throw in the towel!  The stake R.S. Pres. challenged us to just have 5 seconds of scripture study and if you can do just 5 seconds it will be a habit.  I may have 5 seconds a day its just remembering but I am going to give it a shot!
Goal #3-  Finance.  Did someone say budget?  yes, it is time to rethink the Leavitt family budget.  This year we are trying to help our kids be more responsible with their money as well as the mom and dad!!
Well, there you have it. By this time next year I should be a size 6, Relief Society pres., and be able to retire at 40! I think that is what some people think and it sets them up for failure. All I really hope for is to be better than I was in 2008!

Josie...I love your goals. I think they are realistic. I love the 5 second scripture thing...I could probably give that a try too.

okay I am setting a goal to find someone to pay you for your blogs. Some of them are so funny that I really think others should read them and enjoy them as well. Thanks for the laughs not that your goals make me laugh but your writing makes me laugh. Corrine
